Messy, Meaningful, and Moving Forward: My First Painting + A Bold New Project
Share
Success! I completed my first watercolor painting in my studio! It feels so good to say that out loud. The piece is called “Dancing Maiden” and it’s officially available — either in person at the shop or online through my website.
This painting is based on a sculpture right here in Tacoma’s Wright Park. I’ve been falling deeper in love with this city and its history, and I know I’m not alone — where my history buffs at?! HEEEY! 🥂
What’s Next?
If you’ve been riding the wave of constant life shifts like I have, you’ll understand what a gift it is to have something solid to hold onto. For me right now, that solid thing is showing up to my shop. Even on the days when I don’t get anything productive done, just being here — surrounded by my art, my tools, and the echoes of future projects — helps me find my footing.
And it’s that steady rhythm that’s helping me step confidently into my next project.
Introducing: Watercolor House Portraits
I’m launching a new creative offering I’m calling Watercolor House Portraits — and I’m going all in on it.
I designed a flyer, printed 100 copies, and I’ve made it my mission to knock on 100 doors of homes that catch my eye — the quirky ones, the cozy ones, the ones that just radiate personality.
My goal? Land $2,000 worth of commissioned portraits through this one simple (but brave!) act of human connection. Do you think I can do it? I really believe I can.
Because here’s the thing — I know my people are out there. Maybe we just haven’t crossed paths yet… but I’m going to make sure we do.
More Than Just a Painting
I believe in what I’m offering. This is more than art — it’s a celebration of home, a reminder of how special our little corners of the world can be. It’s about stories, conversations, shared moments. It’s about finding beauty in the everyday.
And in a world where artificial intelligence can whip up a lovely digital image in seconds, I’m offering something it can’t:
The story shared across a doorway
The laugh over a quirky architectural detail
The tiny, personal touches that only you would notice — and I’ll choose to include
Will my paintings be a little imperfect? Absolutely. That’s the charm. That’s the humanity.
Let’s Connect
If you (or someone you know) can’t stop talking about how cute their house is — I want to hear from you. Seriously. I want to hear the story of your home, why you love it, what makes it yours. These portraits are fun, joyful, and full of personality — just like the homes they celebrate.
Let’s build something real — with passion, persistence, and community.
Because art, when rooted in love, becomes something far bigger than itself.
Ready to bring some light into your life? Let’s talk. Let’s paint. Let’s build this together.
