Getting Real in Tacoma: First Drawings, Big Visions, and Finding My People

Getting Real in Tacoma: First Drawings, Big Visions, and Finding My People

June 10, 2025

If you caught my last post, you know I’m settling into my art space here in Tacoma—walls getting fuller, ideas swirling, and the blue walls still holding strong. Well, I’m happy to report: I’ve officially started my first drawing in the studio! Success feels good, even when it’s messy and uncertain.

The space is finally flowing how I want it. Art is up everywhere — some new, some rediscovered treasures from the past — and I’m working my way through pricing everything. Honestly, it’s a bit chaotic right now. If you see a piece you like, don’t hesitate to ask me about it. We can chat and come to a fair price together. Growth is never tidy, right? But it’s coming together, and that’s what matters.

Here’s a little insider scoop: I’m bringing in a beautiful old Victorian-style chair soon. It’ll be the spot where you can sit, relax, and maybe even chat with me as I work. I want those conversations to be real—meaningful, impactful. Life is wild and beautiful, and I use my art as a doorway to the deeper questions: Who are you? What do you love? Why do you love it? So pull up a seat, and tell me your story.

As I get more settled here, I’m realizing something important about my mission. I’m on the lookout for a specific kind of people to connect and collaborate with.

I want to work with those who are already fired up—people who are motivated, passionate, and crystal clear about their projects and goals. In past chapters, I often found myself as the motivator for groups losing steam, trying to pull unmotivated folks back into the game. Not this time.

Let me be clear: I’m not judging anyone who’s in a season of uncertainty or searching for direction. But I’m done trying to pull leadership teams out of the mud. I want to be on teams where the vision is sharp, the purpose is understood, and the goals are clear. I want passion. I want enthusiasm. I want people who LOVE the game they’re playing and know why they’re playing it.

If you can’t answer questions like:

  • Who is our target customer?
  • What’s our big vision?
  • Why do we do this?
  • What does success look like this year?
  • What are our realistic goals?

Then this isn’t the collaboration for me. I demand clarity. I demand energy. I demand drive. And I bring that too. I want to be part of the “hell yes, let’s build this” energy.

Are you already on a roll in your life? Are you in the driver’s seat, overflowing with obsessive passion for what you’re building? Me too. I want to spend my days working on things that matter—to me, and to you—and moving the needle toward the life we really want.

So... Are you one of my people? What are you building? What’s your big vision? What gets you so excited you can’t sleep at night? Do you need help in any of the areas I’m skilled in? What are your next steps toward your own level of joy?

If you’re feeling this vibe — that hell yes, yes, YES energy — let’s chat. I’m usually at the shop after 2:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, though hours are still a bit sporadic while I’m dialing it all in. Soon, I’ll have fixed hours and be fully settled.

For now, the growth is messy. The magic is real.

Come by. Pull up a chair. Let’s make something wild, weird, and wonderful together.

Let’s Keep This Conversation Going
